AUDITIONS – KINKY BOOTS

WHEN & WHERE

Who: Seeking actors ages 18 or older of all races, ethnicities, genders, and body types (born on or after February 27, 2005)

When: Sunday, December 4 at 6:30pm (actors will be seen in the order in which they sign-in) // Callbacks will take place on Tuesday, December 6 at 6:30pm

Where: Market Theatre Studio in the Anderson Arts Center - please enter through the doors labeled “Main Entrance” on the lower/parking lot level of the building

WHAT TO PREPARE

Please prepare 30-45 seconds of a musical theatre or pop song; you may sing a song from the show if you would like
It is preferred that you bring sheet music (an accompanist will be present), but you can also sing with a backing track (we will have a speaker to pair to) or a capella
You may be asked to read from the script
Actors are welcome to bring a headshot and/or resume, but it is not required
Callbacks will be comprised of additional singing from the musical, cold reads from the script, and a dance call

Book by Harvey Fierstein, Music and Lyrics by Cyndi Lauper, Original Broadway Production Directed and Choreographed by Jerry Mitchell. Based on the Miramax motion picture Kinky Boots written by Geoff Deane and Tim Firth. Presented by special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI).

Rehearsal Begins – February 27, 2023 (Most rehearsals will take place on weeknights between 6pm-9pm. Some extended days/hours may occasionally take place (with advanced notice) as it gets closer to showtime.)

Performances will be April 28-May 15, 2023.
