We hope everyone is staying safe and healthy during this difficult time!
Due to the developing COVID-19 situation, the Market Theatre board of directors and staff have made additional adjustments to our upcoming show schedule.
It has become increasingly clear that we will not be able to perform Matilda the Musical in April as we had originally hoped. However, we have an amazing show that is ready to be performed as soon as this health crisis is resolved. We will now postpone Matilda to this summer. Performance dates are TBD, but will likely be in late May and early June. We will post on Facebook, on our website, and notify all ticket holders as soon as dates have been selected! After this trying time, we know this show will bring much-needed positivity and magic to our community!
Unfortunately, due to this change, we have made the difficult decision to cancel this summer's production of Mamma Mia!. On the bright side, we have every intention of bringing this show into our 2021 season, if rights and availability allow! All of the artists and team members have been invited to keep their same roles if and when the show is rescheduled in 2021. Patrons with tickets to Mamma Mia! can exchange them for any other production, request a refund, or turn your tickets into a tax-deductible donation. It is heartbreaking to have to cancel this show, and especially heartbreaking for the amazing cast and crew that were going to be incredible in their roles. We hope to see all of them on stage in this show next year!
Thank you all for your continued support and understanding during this challenging time. Without the performances and ticket sales we had planned for this year, we are facing even more trying times ahead as we work to pay bills and fund our summer/fall programming. We know many people in our community are facing similar struggles. Whether you are able to make a donation, donate your ticket, or you're there with us when our doors finally reopen, your support means the world to us! You may donate safely and securely right here on this post, or on our website.
Please stay tuned for ticketing information for upcoming shows, and know that we will be in touch with all Mamma Mia!/Matilda ticket holders as soon as possible.
We look forward to the day that we come out of this stronger and more united as a community! Hope to see you all soon!
